Arboriculture
Trees are assets that influence how a site can be developed. They add long-term value, but they also introduce constraints that need to be understood early. Our arboriculture services help assess impact and support confident design decisions.
We provide clear arboricultural input from BS5837 tree surveys and Arboricultural Impact Assessments through to protection strategies, method statements and site supervision. Where removal is unavoidable, we define proportionate mitigation. Where retention is possible, we work with design teams to safeguard high-value trees without compromising the scheme.
Ecology
Nature recovery and viable development, side by side. Our CIEEM-qualified ecologists get involved early to shape the brief and set projects up properly. Surveys are scoped proportionately and timed to the right seasons, with Biodiversity Net Gain designed to suit the site and your programme. Advice is evidence-led and direct, with clear guidance and realistic assessments of risk.
We work closely with designers and planners to protect wildlife while maintaining momentum. Consent can’t be guaranteed, but submissions are robust, defensible and supported by expert witness input when scrutiny is high.
Landscape planning
Every place has its own character and context. Our landscape-led planning shapes proposals to fit both, embedding green and blue infrastructure into strategy and layout from the start.
Our chartered landscape planners work alongside ecology and arboriculture from feasibility, helping reduce risk and add value early. We deliver due diligence, Opportunities and Constraints studies, LVIA with verified viewpoints, design input, appeals and expert witness support. Sites are assessed in person and judged on their merits. Consent can’t be guaranteed, but our cases are prepared to stand up to scrutiny.
Green and blue infrastructure
We plan and design green and blue infrastructure that manages water, supports biodiversity. improves how places function and aligns with planning policy. Our approach connects ecology, arboriculture and landscape planning from day one, so strategies respond to the site, policy and delivery constraints.
Get a clear, workable GBI strategy that links Biodiversity Net Gain targets to measurable outcomes. Designs are coordinated with drainage, highways and utilities, supported by practical management plans and evidence-led advice that meets policy requirements and stands up to scrutiny.
Expert witness
Planning appeals are high-stakes, technical and expensive. When a refusal or non-determination puts your project at risk, you need expert witnesses who can present clear, defensible evidence and stand up under cross-examination.
We act as expert witnesses across landscape planning, ecology, arboriculture and specialist areas such as BNG and veteran trees. Working closely with leading planning barristers, we prepare appeal-ready evidence, provide rebuttal advice and represent clients at hearings and inquiries. Proven experience when scrutiny is intense and the outcome counts.
