Delivering a successful development today is essentially an exercise in navigating a moving target. You’re managing the intersection of increasingly granular environmental mandates and a regulatory framework that doesn’t sit still.
It’s a level of complexity that usually outpaces “off-the-shelf” consultancy; it requires a real synthesis of local site knowledge and much broader, cross-border technical insight.
That’s why we became a founding member of Myllium.
In this blog, we’ll look at what Myllium is and what it means for you. From broader international expertise to stronger innovation in biodiversity and sustainability, this is about raising the standard of environmental consultancy and delivering better outcomes for your projects.
Myllium is a network of organisations focused on: Biodiversity, Arboriculture, Landscape, Green infrastructure and Sustainability
The goal: get the leading specialists in these fields into the same room to co-create solutions. This means leveraging that collective intelligence to find practical, high-impact ways to move the needle on a project’s environmental performance.
Each of the organisations in Myllium is focused on overcoming the same kinds of challenges. It makes perfect sense to us to bring these specialists together to share how we can overcome them. Over 400 experts working at the intersection of nature, regulation and business strategy, sharing resources, learning from each other and doing better work together. It feels right to us.
And the name? It comes from the Nordic word mylla, meaning fertile ground. It also mirrors mycelium, underground fungal networks that connect ecosystems, transferring nutrients and strengthening resilience. As a collective, the name fits our mission perfectly:
– Fertile ground to grow new and diverse ideas together
– Many parts, working together. Greater knowledge. More impact
– A resilient structure, more powerful than the sum of its parts
Forming Myllium isn’t something that happened overnight. It’s the result of years of working together with organisations we respect deeply and genuinely enjoy working with. Coming together feels like a natural progression, making each of us better placed to do meaningful work for both people and planet. We’ve been instrumental in shaping Myllium’s values, vision and direction so far, closely aligned with what we’ve stood for as a business for the last 15 years:
– To provide exceptional service with technical excellence
– To build a great place for passionate people to work
– To make a positive impact on the communities we work in
– To be leaders in our field, staying on top of environmental challenges
In keeping with those values, forming Myllium wasn’t a top-down decision. When our Chairperson, Simon, first introduced the concept, his priority was a temperature check: “Are you guys happy with this?” It sparked an open Q&A where the team could air their concerns and weigh in on how this shift would affect Tyler Grange and our clients.
Despite these changes, our operational focus and day-to-day delivery remain constant. Myllium is about adding depth to our technical reach, not changing the fundamentals of who we are or the personal service we provide.
Our leadership, governance, brand and services continue in just the same way they always have. The goal of Myllium is to enhance our capabilities for our clients. So far, this has looked like:
– Wider collaboration on shared topics, including innovation and technology within nature protection
– Better talent development, with the opportunity for secondments in different sectors
– Greater financial resilience, enabling us to invest more in our services
– Access to new and detailed capabilities and centres of excellence on an international scale
For our clients, that means:
– Access to broader international expertise. Our network of experts has grown by 400%
– Cross-border knowledge sharing, enabling us to discover newer, better methods, techniques and technologies
– Deeper technical collaboration leading to stronger innovation in biodiversity and sustainability solutions
– A more resilient professional network, helping our people learn, grow and get even better at what they do.
Creating a meaningful environmental legacy is a long-term commitment. It’s having a technical team in your corner that provides the sustained, specialist alignment needed to turn those high-level goals into reality.

“As Group CEO of Myllium, I lead a new international group of companies that brings together expertise in nature, business and sustainable social development. That is what we are building at Myllium. Together, we are over 400 experts working at the intersection of nature, regulation and business strategy.”
Katarina has a proven track record in building strong leadership teams. She brings a structure to the group that will help us clarify the complex and combine expertise with enterprise.
Individually, each of the seven organisations that form Myllium is an expert in their field. Collectively, we are stronger, more resilient and better equipped to face the ecological challenges shaping development today.
At Tyler Grange, we remain rooted in the technical excellence we’ve delivered for 15 years. Connected to an international network of experts, we’re raising the standard for environmental consultancy. Together, we can generate an impact that none of us could deliver alone.
